PowerGuard™ pleated air filters (MERV 11) are designed for use in applications that require high initial efficiency and non-shedding media, including pre-filtration and single filter applications. Available in three sizes (1-, 2- or 4-in thickness).
PowerGuard™ extended surface, pleated air filters with Airguard® technology are specially manufactured for system applications requiring improved medium-efficiency and non-shedding filtration media. The filters perform to MERV 11 based on ASHRAE Test Standard 52.2-2012 and are ideally suited for single filter applications or as improved pre-filter substitutes for disposables, permanent metal filters or media pad/frame filters. Common industry applications include pre-filtration for hospitals and general health care facilities, as well as food processing, pharmaceutical, and semi-conductor manufacturing plants. The filters outperform similar products with respect to both initial and average efficiency. All PowerGuard™ pleated filters utilize synthetic media made up of continuous hydrophobic fibers that can withstand turbulent, high-velocity conditions. Due to the continuous fiber structure and dual-stage electrostatic enhancement, the media can capture a higher amount of small particles than conventional glass substitutes. Contaminant capture is further enhanced by the unique aerodynamic, wedge-shaped pleats. The filters have a heavy-duty structure that features two-piece, high wet-strength beverage board frame with integral corner flaps, which help to prevent racking, warping or leaking under normal operating conditions. To ensure that dirt-laden air does not bypass into the air handling system, the media pack is securely bonded to the periphery of the frame with solvent-free, water-based glue.
